Fieldwork in Argentina

The last month we have been doing fieldwork in Argentina with the purpose of creating didactic materials for Spanish class in Denmark.

Salka joined Denise in the field where they visited different people who work on a variety of topics:

  • A female band in Buenos Airs who fight for women's rights. We were lucky to see them in action at the march for Women's International Day, where 130 drums accompanied the march.

  • A nature reserve in San Martín de los Andes in the Patagonia. We visited María Esther and Enrique who protect the biodiversity in the reserve and run a eco camping to make the project sustainable.

  • A group of friends who started a movement to boost traditional restaurants (bodegones) that serve the kind of food a grandmother would prepare.

  • A Colombian migrant who has started her coffee business in Buenos Aires and thus uniting her roots with her new home.

It has been a unique experience, and every person we have crossed on the journey so far has received the project with open arms. They have been grateful that their country and projects, missions and views will reach the Danish classrooms.

We now have a lot of work ahead - we will be creating text materials and short videos to accompany which will be implemented at six Danish high schools from August 2026.
