Salka, from the Danish team, and Nico, from Colombia, participated in a meeting and exchange in the city of Nairobi in Kenya from May 13-24. This allowed the participating organizations from Nepal, Kenya and Colombia to share their experiences and knowledge, reflect on the contexts in which they work and begin to build a collaborative network for future projects.Â
The Kenyan host organization, Association of People with Physical Disabilities of Kenya (APDK), warmly welcomed all the guests. They shared the different projects in which they work for the integral accompaniment of people with disabilities and organized very enriching meetings with government entities, visits to community partners as well as with the association's youth ambassadors, who work with their peers in different communities.
In addition, the guests had the opportunity to dialogue with organizations that defend and promote human rights in Kenya, from whom we learned a lot, received inspiration to continue working in favor of the community and to continue consolidating networks that favor collaborative learning.Â
We look forward to the future collaborations and to put into practice the learnings and inspiration gained from this trip.
Thanks to 100% for Children for making this exchange possible.
